Hmm this is definitely interesting! Hmm I wish I had banana liqueur but that's a hard bottle to justify in my limited space. Have you done any variations? The only thing I can think to try from what I have is apricot liqueur--thoughts?

I haven't tried it with apricot, though I have a bottle. I suspect it might be a bit too bright, but maybe if you slightly increased the chocolate and decreased the fruit (so 3/4 oz chocolate and 1/4 oz apricot). You could probably just do a chocolate version, or sub a full ounce of vermouth in place of both sweeteners, and then add a couple drops of Mole or Aztec Chocolate bitters. You wouldn't have the same drink. But you'd have a bunch of the same flavors in play.

I will also say: I held out on the Giffard Banane for a while... but it kept popping up in recipes and on menus and I finally gave in -- and now I use it more than any of the other fruity bottles in my collection.

I tried the apricot as you suggested–it worked pretty well, I think! Tasty. I don't believe the apricot overpowered anything and the full 1/2 oz might have been ok (ymmv). I can see how the banana would have been nice, though, and you've convinced me to grab a bottle when I move (and gain more space) in a couple months.
