I tried making this. It’s good! Mine ended up more pink than the one in the picture. I used 1/2 bar spoon of grenadine. Is the homemade version less pink?

I've tried this drink but never with Cointreau. I've always thought of that more as a Triple Sec, but that said I find the multitude of orange flavored liquors quite confusing . . . perhaps a subject for a later article. BTW if you haven't tried it the Lyon Rum distillery over in St Michaels MD makes a very nice (quite dry) Curacao.
