Thank you, Peter! I’ll have to try this rum version. I’ve enjoyed Alexanders for years. My latest iteration is to replace the spirit with bourbon - Angel’s Envy is my go-to. Yummy!

When I make a more traditional version with cognac & Vedrenne Crème de Cacao, I add a few dashes of black walnut bitters which provides a lovely depth to the cocktail.

I might try this with a dash of Mexican Chocolate bitters and maybe a tiny pinch of cayenne.

Or maybe that's too duplicative with the creme de cacao. But I do at least want to try with some added chili heat somehow.

I’m a big fan of Aleppo pepper - would use just a tiny pinch. Alternatively: a drop or two of this: https://www.bittermens.com/products/hellfire-habanero-shrub/

Love Aleppo pepper!

Interesting. I don't have any Aleppo pepper, and I don't think I've had it before, but I like the description of what it would be bringing.

Used Plantation Original Dark Rum and whipped cream (we were out of heavy cream)

Worked really well together. My wife is a Brandy Alexander fan and very much enjoyed the Rum element in one of her favorite cocktails. Thank you again for changing up my cocktail box.

Off Topic. Have you played with The Pathfinder? It is interesting in low ABV cocktails. Plays very nice with coffee. I’ve used it instead of vermouth in a Bitter Giuseppe. Or instead of a coffee liquor in cold brew martinis type drinks. I also like it by itself or with some soda and lemon.
