Hey Peter,

Don't know if there's a way to directly contact you (so putting this in comments instead). But I have a wedding I wanted a specialty drink for (themed around a geography). Would be happy to pay you for even a few quick ideas :). If interested just email me at ebleeke@gmail.com - don't think it'd take more than 15 minutes. Thanks!

Just reply directly to any email from this Substack and it will go straight to one of my inboxes. Sounds fun! Let’s see if we can make something work.

I love the name. I had a similar themed drink in 2015 at L’Abattoire in Vancouver. That one added tequila and agave to the Aperol and sour, and beer of course.

Don't think I've ever seen Schlitz in the PNW. My default sub would be Oly or Rainier.

This drink calls for Schlitz because, well, I couldn’t make the funny name work with another beer. But to keep with the spirit of the drink, any basic, no-frills lager will probably do. As always, I support swaps and experimentation!

This was delicious - used Narragansett

Finally the aperol shows up! Jesus, man, I've been telling you for weeks. I feel like you owe me royalties.

I'm surprised by the ratios here. Aggressive on the aperol and lighter on the beer than I expected.

Blanchard's. (In Obi-Wan Kenobi voice) Now that's a name I've not heard in a long time.

(I used to frequent the one in West Roxbury when I was younger.)

I just realized this is just a classier Spaghett: https://www.pastemagazine.com/drink/beer-cocktails/spaghett-cocktail
