Highballs are definitely on the list this year. We will see about matcha — it’s a fun idea!
As for a book, that’s very kind! It is something I’d be open to trying at some point. But for the moment I’m more focused on improving and expanding the newsletter.
The newsletter is probably 75% (at least) of the book content. Half the other work would be formatting and maybe adding more photos. The rest would "just" be some editing and maybe adding a chapter on bar equipment and one on cocktail books you like. I know several people I'd love to give such a book to as a gift for a future Christmas! Plus I suspect a bunch of us would pay in advance for copies to help fund production (how Prince funded making some of his albums, btw). Possible title: The Large Dogs' Guide to Cocktails?
Does anyone know where I can get Dubonnet in Washington state? I've looked high and low. A friend who works in beer distribution made some inquiries and was told that the stuff was hard to find before Covid, and the distributor hasn't made a delivery since Covid, so it's basically nonexistent now.
I can’t speak for your local market, but after some recent side by side tests (after I wrote this newsletter) I think Lillet Rouge is … not exactly the same but pretty close to Dubonnet. You may not replicate the drink exactly but you can get at least 85% of the way there with Lillet Rouge.
For anyone else in the Seattle area: I found it! Auburn Liquor & Wine (https://goo.gl/maps/9WPFSRHArNi87cbM7), tries to keep it in stock, I was able to buy four bottles. It's in the sherry section.
Just made the Alf! Really delicious champagne cocktail! Have to say that I am really enjoying the site, Peter. I am a cocktail neophyte. I am so into learning about the different spirits, bitters, and recipes for the classic cocktails. DEMEMERA SYRUP has changed my life! Who knew?
Hoping your new year's resolution includes writing a book on cocktails.....
Food and Wine has a recipe for a matcha highball: https://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/matcha-highball
I am sure you have many more creative ideas for using matcha in cocktails (or could think of some easily). A suggestion for your queue!

Made the Champagne cocktail yesterday and the Alfonso this evening.
Both wonderful drinks and very much enjoyed by my Wife & I.
Thank you for the education and giving me some appreciation of Champagne.
Thank you! Glad you liked it.
Thanks for a great 2022 in cocktails. Happy New Year to you, M and the LDs!
